Caydon Reveals Design for Residential Tower in Seattle, Washington

An accomplished Australian real estate developer, Jay Russo has been developing properties for close to two decades. Joe Russo is expanding his real estate foothold into the United States through his firm Caydon Property Group. His first project along the West Coast will be a 28-story residential tower at 8th & Cherry Street in the First Hill neighborhood of Seattle, Washington.

The design for the 300-foot tower was submitted to authorities in January 2018. The residential tower will be located next to Trinity Episcopal Parish, a structure built in 1892. A memorial garden will be located between the church and part of the tower.

The tower will have 204 condominium units and several rooftop amenities. Its first four floors will house a parish hall, community meeting hall, coffee shop, and art gallery. The tower will sit near the church and be linked to it by a three-story glass structure. Caydon will construct six levels of parking and improve public rights of way at the corner. Trinity will maintain ownership of the land.

Caydon’s New Development at 8th Ave. & Cherry Street, Seattle

A well-respected business executive, Joe Russo serves as the principal and chief executive officer of Caydon Property Group, a leading Australian developer with successful real estate developments in the United States and Australia. Joe Russo is integral to the firm’s success in constructing over 1,500 apartments worth over AUD 2 billion and expanding Caydon’s operations in the United States.

One of Caydon’s promising US projects is a condo development at 8th Ave & Cherry Street in the First Hill neighbourhood of Seattle. Caydon’s preliminary project plans for the property were presented by Chicago-based architecture firm Solomon Cordwell Buenz and Seattle-based design consultant Compton Design Office during an early design guidance meeting held last January. The proposal's approval provided the green light for the firm to build a 26-story high-rise tower with below-grade parking and a rooftop amenities area. Conveniently located near downtown, the latest project is an excellent choice for buyers who enjoy being surrounded by vibrant cafes, boutique museums, and the panoramic landscape of Puget Sound, Lake Union, and the Cascade Mountains.

Caydon Property Group Develops New Tower in Australia

Joe Russo, the owner of Australia’s Caydon Property Group, has recently expanded the company to include offices in Houston, Texas.

Joe Russo founded Caydon, now one of Australia’s leading apartment developers, in 1999. Since then, he has spearheaded a number of major real estate initiatives in Melbourne, including the development of the high-rise residential and retail district, Mason Square. The plans for the precinct, located between Hall, Homer and Everage Streets in the inner city neighborhood of Moonee Ponds, were finalized after successful negotiations with the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal.

The development had a start date of June 2016 and as of April that year, 200 units were sold. This master planned project will comprise 612 one- two- and three-bedroom apartments, as well as retail space, parking for 580 cars, and storage for 258 bicycles. Mr Russo has ensured 28 percent of the site will be reserved for use by the surrounding community. They will be able to enjoy a large urban plaza and the laneways between the towers that will connect three streets.
